2002 Model Year AC Drain Hoses

Yahoo Message Number: 102172
John and Fred, thanks for your replies. You've confirmed my suspicions that this model did not include roof AC drain hoses ... the water just drains across the roof and drips down the side of the coach.
But John, on the topic of the drain hoses that you did mention from the slide-out collection troughs, I have located the bottom of these hoses but how can I access the top of these drain hoses. It has been suggested to blow them out from the bottom to clear any clogs but where does that debris go once it has been blown out? I'd much rather try to blow them out from their upper ends.

Thanks, Steve '02 Intrigue #11382

I only accessed the trough above the front wheel well.  Because flooring was being replaced it was necessary to remove the couch, chairs and wood trim beside the drivers seat which then made it easier to view the drain trough.  Access to blow air into the top of the drain tube was too tight and so I had someone do so from the bottom while I  observed the top point.  Although my line was clear and nothing but compressed air came out, I wouldn't be concerned about blowing air into the bottom discharge point without actually seeing the top point.  The top of that hose is connected to a small open trough to collect water that might seep in around the forward slide seal and there was no evidence of crud that accumulated at that point.  Also feeding into the trough is a clear plastic drain line running the length of the slide from a collection point at the base of the rear edge slide seal.  If the drain line in the wheel well in fact had an obstruction, then blowing compressed air from the bottom would likely succeed and obstructing material would likely blow clear of the trough.

In my situation I was concerned by water beneath the carpet at the slide seal behind the drivers seat.  On further inspection I discovered the canvas topper above the slide had seams coming apart which likely allowed too much water to pool on top of the slide, that water then brought in when retracting the slide.  I've ordered replacement canvas and also am now more careful to retract the slide in a series of stop-start motions to help the seals sweep water from the slide top when retracting after rain storms.
