Service local dealer vs. factory

How many participants on this board utilize the local dealer for service versus returning to the factory? I have read the posts on this board for almost 2 years & have found them very informative on CC. Convenience of service is a factor we are considering in our purchase plans. We're considering a used CC or a used Foretravel. The nearest CC dealer is 150 miles from us and the nearest Foretravel factory is 70 miles. Thanks in advance for your input.

Hi, I have had a CC, then a Monaco, now another CC. I seriously considered a Foretravel every time before I purchased the Monaco and the Second CC. The biggest thing was the $ and the coach layout in the Foretravel related cases. FT bed room are a little cramped for us. We like the larger slides. As far as the service thing it really has not been a problem getting the RV serviced no matter were you are in your travels so I would not worry about having a service center close to you. When you do have a problem you will prob be miles away from home anyhow.

Good luck, AL

Our dealer has a country coach servive rep on site, so unless he says or Doug Rutherford says bring it to Junction the unit is serviced at Beaudry in Tucson. Now Cummins does the engine and Detroit Allison in EP, tx. does the tranny and chassis. TWI Intrigue 2004

As of this summer, Beaudry in Tucson did not have a CC service rep on site. This according to a service writer there at Beaudry. I tried to schedule an appt with them earlier this summer and was told CC service rep was no longer on site (they were there for the rally in March).
Was I mis-informed or is a CC service rep periodically sent there? Do have better or newer info.

Thanks,

Thanks for the update; I might give them a shot again in the future if I'm in the area; pretty happy with Carrier & Sons.
