2000 Intrigue Specs

Yahoo Message Number: 14697
First let me thank everyone for all the information I have gained from reading the posts. We are looking at a 2000 Intrigue since htat seems to be the year of the suspension upgrades. We would like to know what was included in the 2000 model. It is hard to tell by reading the for sale descriptions. I have searched the web for the standard specs of the 2000 and have found very little except for a FMC review. Does anyone have an original brochure or window sticker that has all of the standard specs and what options were available on the 2000. If someone could scan and email or post it in the files section we would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

Mike & Jo,

Call CC sales and they should be able to send you a fax copy of that years features and available options.

You should also be able to get the build sheet listing all options installed from CC if you have the coach #. This can be found on one of the doors in the bath area or the closet.

Hi Mike and Jo, You really need to identify the coach number, length and build month to be sure the answer to your questions are valid.

It seems coach building is always a 'work in progress' and unlike cars the model changes and content changes can happen at just about any time during the year.

The late model 2000 Intrigues are the ones with the IFS and larger tires. The earlier 2000 models are perfectly good coaches but do not turn as well. This issue is not that important if looking at a 32 or 36 but might not fit you are camping style if you have to go into restricted camp sites wit a 40 ft coach.

You should expect to pay a little more for the IFS and larger tires. They started around coach number 11039 for the Intrigue.

Call CC with the coach number. They will be able to tell you what recalls were made for that particular coach. (This will basically relate to CC manufactured parts) Ride height valves was an issue, both location and type. Also, fan speed controllers.

Get the engine number. Go to a Cummins service center and ask them to pull up the engine history. They should also be able to tell you about their recalls.

It is important to note that Cummins replaced a lot of compressors free of charge around this time period. CC records did not show this information as an outstanding recall, I found out only by accident when I had the engine serviced by Cummins. For that reason I recommend having a Cummins shop do you 'baseline' service.

If the unit has the Hurricane heat make sure you run the system. Don't be rushed. Check all heat outlets and fan switches. Make sure the system is working. When they do, they are great but they can be a PITA.

Above all, if buying from a dealer DON'T UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES go for the deal that says "Take delivery of the coach, use it over the weekend, make a list of the problems and then we can fix them all at one time".

You probably won't be able to spot every single item that might need attention but do you best before you finish the deal and then make it a written condition it be fixed before you pass over any money (excepting a fully refundable deposit).

These are great coaches but like all motor home they can be a challenge. The more you can understand and get fixed before delivery the better your chances for a good maiden voyage.

Whatever happens, don't let your emotions take control. GGGGG

 Good luck.
