I installed a longer horn ( a 29" one ) on my 03 Allure for a total cost of a little over $100 if I remember correctly. I ordered it direct from Hadley. I like the sound so much I look for reasons to use the horns. Scare the H... out of people all the time.
To CC's credit they have corrected some stupid stuff over the years. The best thing since sliced bread is the smart steering wheel. Now if there was just a way to mount the smart tire monitor where I didn't have to take my eyes completely off the road to check it...

Hi,

I am new to this group. I found it a few weeks ago and have been watching the posts. My wife and I are originally from NH but are now full timers for 4 years. We are very solid Country Coach fans as evidenced by the fact that we have owned 3 in the last 4 years. They were/are all 40ft Allures, a 2002, 2003 and 2004.

I love the idea of `Stupid Stuff' in concept except I believe that it would be more effective with CC if it were renamed. Although the original post handled this delicate subject very well, that intent is sure to get lost in long threads. I think something like `Owner Discovered Problems/Flaws' might be a lot more complimentary to CC.
I firmly believe in the old adage `you catch a lot more flies with sugar than vinegar'. I have a several to add to the list but this one caused me the most grief.

Country Coach is not alone in this but why control all ways to heat the coach by one thermostat and two heat pump control modules? In my case, a two zone digital thermostat sends data to a control module in the front AC via ordinary phone wire that in turn sends data to a module in the rear AC on the same type wire. Together all heating functions of the heat pumps and/or the HydroHot (except hot water) are controlled by these units and the interconnecting wiring. On night, in a coach with 2 heat pumps and a forced hot water furnace with 3 different sources of supply, I stood over the stove trying to stay warm with all three burners going. In desperation I started poking around at all of the control wiring that I could locate. Finally I found a nearly disintegrated RJ11 butt connection tying two cables together in the rear AC unit. I just happened to have one on board so problem solved but it all left me scratching my head over the design criteria. To me it would seem better to have a separate thermostat for the front and rear heating zones using the control module on each AC. The way it is seems like a fairly extensive and unnecessary single point of failure with so many ways to heat the coach. BTW there are a number of combinations of functions that are not allowed by the thermostat. For instance you cannot run the front on AC and the back on heat pump or vice versa. I also believe that one zone on heat pump and the other on furnace is also not allowed. There are some others. Since the functions called for on each zone cannot be viewed at the same time it is easily possible to have a completely functional system appear to be not working
