TOYO TIRE MANUFACTURE DATE

Yahoo Message Number: 16586
My coach was built in December 1999. Still have plenty of tread on the tires but I decided to check the date of manufacture to see how much earlier the tires were made.
Surprise, I couldn't find it anywhere on the outer wall. Do they hide it on the inside wall?

David,

Every blow out I have ever seen had plenty of tread left. We don't wear out the tread, the sun kills our tires. The fact that we are sitting most of the time does not help either. I would replace my tires at 5 years, after all you will probably not keep the coach for another 5 years so if you replace them now you will get the pleasure of having good tires for the next 5 years. Don't be like most people and replace the tires at 7 years so the new owner will have good tires. you should also remember that the 315s have a 65mph rating and all the others have a 75 mph rating. On the Mag line our front tires are rated at 65mph, but how many people go 65, we do! It's unfortunate that the coaches are built with big engines but the tires are not.

Hi Bill, I agree. My coach is just over five years old so replacing tires is becoming an issue and the reason I was asking about manufacture date as the tires may be quite a lot older then the coach!

Right now I am considering trading the coach or going through a substantial redo of our existing coach.

Very unlikely that we will be in the 'brand new' market place but will be considering a late used model with three slides and tag.

It will be interesting to see what is available at the class reunion is September.
