I would like to address a suggestion made below about rules for staying in Truck Stops. This past Fall I was fueling at 4 Corners (near Barstow) and ran into a ticked off Trucker. He let me have it and I returned the favor. He was mad at RVers in general and I was the closest but also unreceptive target. Once we established a common ground (both former Marines) the mood changed and he explained some of his pet peeves. One made perfect sense and I am passing that one along. He complained that he arrived at Truck stops with a mandatory rest stop looming only to find it full of RVs with no room remaining. He explained that Truck Stops were their home away from home and that they cannot stay in RV Parks. In fact, on one occasion, one intrepid RVer got out and knocked on his door at 0100 , woke him up, and asked him to turn off his refrigeration unit. I would have loved to have seen that.
I realize we spend our money in those same Truck Stops and we are entitled to the space provided BUT in the future I will not stay in a Truck Stop as I see his point. I pass it along as food for thought.

Re: [Country-Coach-Owners] Digest Number 1876 Interesting point. We've stayed in a Truck stop once, when getting out of Cummins at 11:30 at night after a long day of getting a repair done. Other than that, it would be too noisy and NO I would never think to tell a trucker to turn off his refer unit! How crass! We may stop for lunch but try to stay out of everybody's way as much as possible, but then it is time to move on. And we always pull forward when getting fuel to get out of the way of the next person who is in line.
I know there are "Adam Henry's" in every walk of life, but for the most part we've been treated with respect on the road and in truck stops. We smile, and always give them the right of way. Of course there are always "a few" but that is to be expected.
