It seems odd that in your defense of your state you show disdain for mine. I think you would have been more convincing if you had skipped that part.

George, I am not impugning the laws of your state, nor intending to show any disrespect. Next I am in Alabama, I will happily accede to whatever laws apply to my visit. That is my point entirely. Since each of the present 50 states is supposedly organized as a republic, then each citizen of each republic is required to adhere to the laws of that republic in which he is operating, and in such other republics as he may be visiting, insofar as they are not determined to be in conflict with (current) interpretation of the Constitution. I may or may not agree with the recent SCOTUS decisions having to do with the alleged rights of states to determine their interpretation of federal law, but they are what they are.
