Re: Fw: Citgo Reply #3 – March 23, 2007, 11:30:58 pm Yahoo Message Number: 29905Isn't this topic inappropriate for this board. I think Herb has to step in here and delete these type of posts. I'm neither for or against what was stated in the post; I just believe if we start bringing up these type of topics, such as politics, religion, etc; that it could in-flame folks passions and it could get ugly. I love this board because it's wealth of information on Country Coaches and because folks are willing to share their knowledge and help each other with their coaches, such as, the post on Maritime traveling; excellent post and replies. We all need to work against terrorism anytime, anyplace, always. The simple fact is, they want to KILL US ALL and I for one am very much against that!Andy Ring02 Allurerick_barnette wrote:Isn't this topic inappropriate for this board. Re: Fw: Citgo Reply #8 – March 25, 2007, 03:22:28 am Yahoo Message Number: 29926TWI,It would be good information... if it were true/accurate! Petro Express is NOT owned/affiliated with Citgo or Hugo Chavez. They are a privately-owned, US-based (Charlotte, NC) company. By boycotting them, you are HURTING the US and its economy... not Hugo Chavez. Check out Petro Express's company info on their own website here: http://www.petroexpress.com/aboutus.htmlThe information in the e-mail you forwarded is incorrect. Snopes.com debunks the "Urban Legends" that are becoming all-to-common with the ubiquity and ease of e-mail. Their entry about this "Legend" is rather lengthy, but at the end there is this pertinent part:"Both Circle K and Petro Express are privately-owned chains of convenience stores, the former an international property of Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard, and the latter based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Neither is owned by Citgo or the Venezuela government. Although Petro Express outlets did sell Citgo gasoline, the company announced in October 2006 that the chain was phasing out sales of Citgo Petroleum Corp. gasoline and by 2007 would no longer be vending the brand. It is not uncommon for independent stations and chains to switch fuel suppliers from time to time. Occurrences of independents dropping Citgo in favor of other suppliers are often misinterpreted by the public as attempts on Citgo's part to "switch names" in order to fool consumers into continuing to purchase Citgo gasoline."I applaud everyone's desire to do the right thing and support companies that are not harmful to the US. But we need to be very careful and do our due diligence to be sure that we understand all of the facts before acting.Sorry for the long post... just wanted to set the record straight.- John'05 Newmar Mountain Aire 43' / Spartan chassis / Cummins ISL 400 '03 Honda CR-V EX manual toadNO affiliation with Petro Express OR Citgo Quote Selected
Re: Fw: Citgo Reply #9 – March 25, 2007, 11:56:01 am Yahoo Message Number: 29928John, I think you should reread the snopes report. It takes a neutral standing on this one. It is long and lengthy article with emails from the other standpoint. Not trying to stir the pot but pointing out the rating. Personally I fight with my pocket book....I do the American thing and buy the cheapest. LOLMax98 Affinity #5487AOL now offers free email to everyone.
