Re: Thanks for the question Reply #1 – March 30, 2007, 12:58:49 pm Yahoo Message Number: 30032Just about the same for me. At 65 to 70 I was 208-210. In traffic up to 230. I was told by two non CC mechanics that this is normal. So I have taken two aspirin and don't worry about it anymore unless driving a grade, then I pay attention to RPM and coach trans. stays within normal limits. Quote Selected
Re: Thanks for the question Reply #2 – March 30, 2007, 09:23:40 pm Yahoo Message Number: 30037As per Allison, anything hotter than 250 is to hot for the sump temperature which is what the silverleaf reads. At 262 degrees, the transmission will start inhibiting operation. If the sump temp gets to 250 you should pull over and put the transmission in neutral to cool. The gage on the dash reads the fluid temp as it leaves the transmission going to the transmission cooler, so it should be considerably higher than the silverleaf temp(if they are still wiring the coaches the same as my 05 Intrigue). The gage temp should not get over 300 or it is considered overtemp. For normal driving temps, 205 sounds about right. I imagine your coolant temp is approx 200 as well.Kevin05 Intrigue 11886--- frl765 FRL765@...> wrote:QuoteIn traffic I was at 230. Re: Thanks for the question Reply #3 – March 31, 2007, 01:07:58 am Yahoo Message Number: 30039I am just the opposite, gauge is lower than Silverleaf, but when gauge catches up to Silverleaf is when I start to worry. As I said before I have asked about this repeatedly to CC and any mechanic that will talk to me, they all say the new units run hotter, but not to worry. Odd when running both coolant and trans. are almost the same, maybe coolant a few degrees cooler, but not much. McMahon's as assured me on every occasion that I am there that this is not an issue. They get the data from CC tech. who visit there from San Diego. SOOOOOO I am moving on, if the sucker burns up I done all I know to do, and the next stop will be the factory. Quote Selected
Re: Thanks for the question Reply #4 – March 31, 2007, 04:39:22 am Yahoo Message Number: 30040Same as mine the dash gague is much lower than the silver leaf. I thought it did not work until I got in town traffic and it went to 200. Coolant did not get over 210 at any time and runs at 200 to 205 most of the time. So far I have been flat landing in Florida, no climbs. Thanks for the imfoFrank Allure 470 2006 Quote Selected
Re: Thanks for the question Reply #5 – March 31, 2007, 01:49:32 pm Yahoo Message Number: 30042Frank,Make sure you are looking at the transmission temp gage and if it is indeed lower, find out from CC where they are getting the input from. I would be curious to know myself. In the past, all inputs to the dash transmission gage came from the output of the transmission.Kevin 1188605 Intrigue--- frl765 FRL765@...> wrote:QuoteSame as mine the dash gague is much lower than the > silver leaf.
