Re- Clear coating

I have the same problem to be addressed. After having the front and rear sanded and clear coated a couple of years ago, I am now faced with the front cap and sides of the roof flaking.
Looking for a different and less expensive way of fixing this myself, I saw a product that is quite inexpensive that is used restoring the hulls of fiberglass boats. It looks like it would fix the problem with one easy application every year or so. Has anyone else tried anything like this?

You didn't say what the product was. Would it be the 303 stuff? As for boat hulls, same fiberglass type material, just isn't exposed to UV.

Check out: http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/54449.html?1046194110 Apparently real users say Vertglas is far from easy to apply, doesn't provide the dramatic results the sales pitch promises and may make things worse when you eventually need to take more drastic action such as painting.. On the sales website shown in the message below follow some of the pictures and it is obvious they have been played with. If you compare the paint on the trailer between the two pictures of the red boat you can see it doesn't match the "before" picture, it too looks better than before treating the boat. That plus the need for continued applications over time makes it a non-solution to me.
Remember the acronym: TANSTAFL. There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
I'm still looking at painting my roof as it seems to be the only way to even remotely provide a more or less pemanent fix.
