@#$% latches

Yahoo Message Number: 34902
when we first got our 06 allure within a month a compartment latch broke -- these are the trimark ones with nylon latches. after a year and 10,000 miles one more broke. well, 4 mo & 3,000 mi later 3 break within 1 week. All of these are on different doors.

anyone have any solutions, ideas, replacement latches that hold up better?

Found one thing to be true with the compartment doors and that is you need to close them gently, while holding latch up. You can't stand straight up and push then shut or you will need an unending latch supply.

I have had the same problem with my basement door latches. DO NOT let them slam, close them nice and easy holding the handel up, super glue the white plastic back together. My 2006 Inspire has 20,000 miles on it and the Trimark entry door latch failed ($220.00). Fortunately we had left a window unlocked otherwise we were out in the cold.

I'll try the super glue -- FYI we were told during PDI and have been following the advice to always lower the door gently and then push at the edge where the latches are until they click into place.

I guess we'll try the holding the handle and letting the latches engage without any pressure from the outside.

Just wish that on this level of coach there was a better solution available.

Thanks all!
