Chassis battery going dead

I have been parked a ODR in Agaunga for over a month. My chassis battery is almost totaly discharged even thought I am plugged into 50 amp service.

Checked water level (full), checked echo charger and green light shows steady which looks like the correct indication.

Does it sound like the battery is going south?

Any ideas?

My friend had the same problem on a 2000 Magna and we ended up pushing in one of those red buttons back by wherethe fuel filters are. The red button was labled "200" and when we pushed it, we heard something click and it has worked (recharged) ever since. His Echo Charger had a green light too, befor we reset the red button.

Jock, try resetting all of the red buttons in the chasis battery compartment. Been there done that with our 06 Inspire,

Jock,

The green light on the Echo charger does not mean that it is charging. It only mean that the Echo Charger has power to it.

My battery was not charging while echo charger had green light. It had failed & lied that it was still good.
Progressive dynamics sold me a 40 amp charger-converter for less $ than new echo. Connected PD unit to 120 VAC power already under bed. with 12 VDC output to 60 amp starter breaker. !2 volt wires are protected by breaker. With genset or shore power I have 140 amps available to charge batteries. PD unit has no noise, only runs fan minimally to cool.

Check to see if the two red Echo-Charge wires are attached correctly - i.e., to the correct battery banks. CC has had a history of reversing the Echo-Charge leads over the years. This condition results in exactly the symptom you report.

Had a similar problem found out they never put the fuses in for the echo charger. I had only had the coach for three years guess I drove enough to keep the battery charged.

Echo charger is easily connected incorrectly. It is supposed to be connected so that the chassis battery receives its charge FROM the connection to the Coach battery since it is the coach battery that normally receives the charge from the on board charger. If it is connected backward, the chassis battery will get drained trying to support the coach battery and will only receive a charge when the engine is running.

Green light just means it is connected.

Worth checking.
