Al, a company called Summit still makes "coach armor". They call it Body Block. It is superior to the original in a number of ways including quick releases and hinges for cleaning. I replaced mine and it is very good. I got the smoked color. BTW, it is Lexan, not plexiglass. Here is a link: http://www.rvstainless.com/ShopbyProducts/BodyBlockShields/tabid/64/Default.aspx
As far as the 3M stuff is concerned: my understanding is that if you mainly deal with bugs and dirt, it can be OK. If you are deal with gravel or rocks, the 3M ain't Lexan. Gravel goes right through the film.

I picked some up at either a Lowes or Home Depot. I don't remeber which.

Al,

Had the Coach Armor removed a couple of months ago. Filled all the holes and painted the entire front with a product similar to what front bumpers are often painted with but not as textured. It is chip resistant and can be spot repaired. Don't remember the name of the stuff. Call RVDecor in Yuma AZ at 928-550-7010 if you are interested.

Occasionally a coach owner will ask me about my Plexiglas coach armor. The only thing I can tell them is the company that made it is gone and I don't know of anyone who makes them. Last week a guy told me he has a like new one for sale. I told him I'd pass it along on the forum. If you are interested, email me directly and I will provide you his telephone number. He is located in Junction City, Oregon.

I had my coach armor replaced after I rear-ended a pickup. Summit got the drawings from Mills Manufacturing after it went out of business. It is a fairly close copy, the bottom is down a little lower. But I must say, it is sure bight and shiny! The old one had gotten cloudy from it years of pebbles and sand wearing it. So I am happy with it. The body shop had a bear of a time installing it, though.
