Help with new coach Refer will not light....

Yahoo Message Number: 39912
Ideas please, our coach 2008 allure #31619 will not light the refer, stock Norcal 2-way 12 cubic Ft. Works fine on Generator. Turn off generator, and it will not swich over to LP. It trys, opening the back door, I can see the blue spark trying. The coach was sitting at the dealers for repairs for the last 4 weeks. The LP tank says it's 85% full, and the gauge looks to be at 85%. I can smell NO gas having the back door open while it is trying to light. I did open/close/open the LP tank value.

Problem #2, I used the added pig tail, taking it down form the 50 amp cord down to household cord. Hoping to use AC to get the refer going for the night to cool it down. Was unable to get AC into the coach. NOt sure if there is a different setting on the inverter control? Plus blew the breaker on the house GFI trying. Only had the refer on in coach plus cooling fan in TV box.

Hi Mike:

One of your problems with the shore power hook up is the GFI.
Make sure you get into a circuit w/o GFI. Also, Shut down all electrical devices in the coach. When the 110 volts kicks on in the coach and holds go ahead and turn the refrigerator. Your battery charger will probably kick on first.
But, to get started get rid of the GFI.
Good luck.

Try reseting your LP gas detector. It might be blocking LP to the coach for some reason. You can verify this by checking to see if your stove burners light. If they don't, for sure, reset the LP detector. Been there done that.

Not sure about your electrical problem. How's everything work on generator power?

When I experienced the same problem, in a coach that was new to me, it turned to be simply that the gas leak detector (near the floor below the refer) was turned off to save drawing down the batteries. Propane won't flow if the detector is not turned on.
