As for Smart Tire!!

I am getting ready to leave on a small trip. I have check all the tires for the correct air pressure. I get into the coach and I have an alarm that the drivers front is low and failing, "red alert". I leap from my coach and grap the air guage and wonder what went wrong. To my delight, the guage still read the same. So go figure, Smart Tire has alarmed a blow out, and tire almost on fire, and every manner of events, but no actual event.

As I get this coach into shape Smart Tire, is just another one of those computer inputs that was built by a human, and then installed by yet another human. Need I saw more. In fact the more tricks I take out of this coach the better it seems to perform.

DirecTV Finally decided that yes I do not have HD, and after two years they have now agree not to charge me for it. I would say that almost all of the final "warranty issue" were fixed with my money, including the slides.

I can testify to the fact the dealer preparation is a key element of the purchased price, and if you don't think I am correct then I hope your are an able mechanic, and can fix issues. I am two years almost to the date, and finally almost all the systems work, except Smart Tire. If I would have gone with the dealer who wanted a few thousand more, I would have broken even sometime last summer. Of course if the Bull Frog had wings he wouldn't bump is ass.

Jim,

Sorry you're having trouble with the Smart Tire system. But doesn't one have to be rolling for a few hundred feet before the sensors are activated and working correctly? I'm not sure that just getting in the coach, starting it up and idling w/o moving will properly activate the system. What happened after you got rolling aways? From personal experience it also matters wrt how much air you are putting in the tires. I found that when I substantially deviated from the CC recommended pressures (as stated on the placard behind my driver seat) I was getting all sorts of deviation errors on the ST. Turns out that CC programs the ST for the settings on the placard. I had put additional pressure in the rear tires which caused a number of ST deviation alarms. As soon as I reduced the pressure to that stated on the placard, I rotated through the ST display and saw deviations within a lb or so.
I absolutely agree with you wrt the length of time it takes to get all of these bugs worked out. And your statements about DirecTV. I am going to cancel my subscription instead of paying $1000s to have a new antenna and receiver put in. Ridiculous what they did on top of you can only subscribe and unsubscribe twice a year now. Not very useful for someone who doesn't full time. What a rip off.

I would hope Harry that enough of us will say enough and DirecTV may start to listen. Nothing like people not traveling and watching there money to have some Exec. say hay we are losing money what happened? We will see about Smart Tire you are right you have to be going to let things get warmed up, what is interesting is it has never done this before, but then again allot of things have happened that have not happened before. In fact I sometimes think I am in a re-run of a movie that just keeps coming back to the same place.
I will be at the Rally, hope to see your there. Beer is on me the wine is on Tom.(TWI)

Thanx, Jim. We'll be at the Reunion also. Can't wait to get out of this ABQ heat (100 deg yesterday).
Safe travels.

Don I just came 400 miles and the red alarm would not go out. I check the tire manually several times no pressure drop. I don't get it but I think the battery is dead, not sure but that is the reading Smart Tire gives. I am going to take care of this is in Junction City this summer.

Sincerely,

Ok Jim, Too bad it wasn't something simple like interference. I don't know what the various symptoms of a dead battery are. Mine are 4 years old so I guess I will be finding out before too long.

Good luck with it.
