It's not hard to get around. Go south on Interstate 255, it will say something like Memphis. It circles the city to the south and there is normally no traffic. It is really the same interstate as I-270. It just becomes 270 at the state line, you can take 270 north to I-64 and then head west. You will miss all the construction and avoid a lot of traffic. Call me if you need to we are traveling right now (I'm on my data card) 314-609-9797

Just a reminder to everyone, I-64 / Hwy 40 is completely shut down in St. Louis. So you must avoid it.

Carter,

I live in St. Louis. I-64 is closed for 6 miles. Coming from the east, you want to take I-255 to I-270 bypass to I-64/40. This is the loop around St. Louis. Avoid downtown. I-64 west to I-70 west and you're well on your way.

Have a safe trip.

Grant,

Where do you live in the St. Louis area? Don and I are in the Fenton/High Ridge area. Nice to know we are getting more CC folks in the area.

Just to be clear in case it was confusing, I assume you will be heading east on I-40 and then pick up 1-24 up to I-57 north, then I-64 east.
The south by-pass has much less traffic than any other route. You can take I-255 south, it turns into I-270 and heads north. You can get I- 64/highway 40 and head west it will take you to I-70 west. We just got home and their is a little bit of construction on 64/40 almost when you get to the I-70 entrance but it's just a lane change and didn't really slow us down much.
