Does anyone know how to disable the device that keeps my tv from wor

Yahoo Message Number: 40283
when the engine is running. I have in-motion satellite that does nothing because when in motion the tv doesn't work. I don't want to watch it but I would love to listen to the music channels on directv while I am driving. No tv, no music. I was to to cut the green ground wire and I saw two going into the device and three inside. Help!

On my '05 Allure, the Directv box controls the in-motion satellite antenna functions. If the audio output from the satellite reciever is connected directly to the audio receiver you can listen while driving without the tv having to be turned on. There probably is an optical output on your satellite receiver which can be connected to the audio receiver with a fiberoptic cable ( Radio Shack). You can't see the tv screen output with the ignition turned on but you can listen. You can also listen to to satellite audio on your surround sound system. Disabling the ignition relay that locks out is another topic.

Well, once when I had my TV out, I noticed another pug outlet in there right next to the one it was plugged into. I merely unplugged the TV from one outlet and plugged it into the other one. TV works with ignition on or off now.

Pull out your TV. Behind it you will find a 110 volt socket that the TV is plugged into. The socket also has a 12 volt positive and ground wire going to it. The 12 volt positive is hot when the ignition switch is turned on and it disables the 110 volt output. From there you should be able to determine what you want to do.

However, if you plan to watch TV while driving I think it is your responsibility to notify us what route you are taking so we can stay the @%@@ out of your way.

Note: My understanding is that in most states it is not legal to have a TV in view of the driver. In the event of an accident where you are determined to be at fault it would not be good to have anyone find that this device had been defeated.

On our 06 Inspire, there is a fuse for the 12volt part of the relay. Lower left forward compartment ahead of the front wheel. I pulled it and the TV works all the time.

No worries. I don't plan to watch TV but listen to XM Radio through DirecTV. My coach is wired so if the TV is not on...there is no sound. I would like to put it on the music channel and enjoy my house stero while I drive. I rarely watch TV even when stationary.

On my o4 Inspire there was an electrical outlet to plug into that would work. I used a surge protector to plug into that outlet and it works - Camping World installed our in-motion system and it works fine -
