There will be a general meeting for CCI at the Kerrville TX rally so if you want to have input into the future of the club, this would be the place. Your Board of Directors are trying to do things that were reflected in the survey sent out to all club members. In order to continue this club it will mean we will have to have the support of the members at these rallies. Kerrville is a great venue with lots to do, including the Rockbox theater www.rockboxtheater.com, tour historic Fredricksburg http://www.fredericksburg-texas.com/, tour the Nimitz Museum www.nimitz-museum.org/ or the Lyndon Johnson Ranch www.nps.gov/lyjo/planyourvisit/lbjranching.htm .
This is a gret time of the year in Texas, so we hope to see you there.

In response to those who question the $$ of the Kerrville rally. Last year I sent a questionaire to all CCI members of record and received over 800 responses. One of the questions was preferred rally price. Over 40% said $395 was OK and even others said more was acceptable as long as the quality was there. We planned this rally to be a quality rally covering ALL expenses for liquor, exceptional food and the best entertainment available. We could have had a couple of cowboy pickers but chose the the Almost Patsy Cline Band instead. We could have had a DJ but instead chose a 17 piece 1940's Glen Miller style orchestra in military dress. Also we planned open bar cocktails and the higest quality food. None of this is inexpensive. In short, we tried to respond to the desires of our members.
A $195 rally with all the trimmings like a Country Coach Class Reunion is a thing of the past since it cost about$800 per coach for those rallies. That may be one of the contributing factors to the demise of Country Coach (please, no Howard comments!).
"If you build it they will come" may not apply here but we need attendance or loose money. If you own a Country Coach and are not a member of CCI, please consider this your invitation to attend. Hopefully after you attend this party, you will want more of the same in the future.
This is the middle America area rally planned to accomodate owners in the mid-west part of the country. East coast and west coast rallies are in the plans and we will do our best to give you a rally to remember.
On behalf of rally hosts Jerry and Geneva Keeton & Joe and Beverly Smith Regards, Ted Wright - CCI President L041

Ted,

Thanks for your post. I have no question about the cost vs. quality issue that you address. What has been planned does indeed justify the costs involved. Personally, the commradarie of the group, group activities and local attractions can produce a lot of fun and a good rally. Also, it may not have been clear that the $395 questionaire excluded RV park costs. No question about Buckhorn, we love the place and always stay there when we visit Kerrville. Again, thanks for all your effort and contributions to CCI.

Tom, AKASAC, you will never own a CC, you will never be a member of CC International, you will never attend a CC rally, so why is that you are constantly critical and have so many disparaging remarks on this forum. I don't get it. What good does it do anyone? For that matter, why is it any of your business what those of us who are dues paying members of CC International spend our money on? There is no doubt in my mind that Joe, Beverly, Jerry, Geneva, Ted, and Sherry will put on a Rally well worth $395.00. Heck, it's worth that amount to me just to get together with a great group of CC people and hopefully make a bunch of new CC friends.
