This is is sort of a follow up post to this thread, 44997.

Due to a credit from the gent we bought the coach from, we've been able to dial in this coach with new Mich's XZE's *, and Road Kings all around. Previous message link, goes thru my thought process. As noted in the heading, went with Road Kings all around. Following the advice from Henderson's Line-up, I also added front under 30Klbs MCU's, and rear over 30Klbs MCU's. They felt the front IFS of our rig, with good shocks, and proper hieght setting (we are at the top of the range) responded better with the under 30Klbs Motion Control Units. We matched this with tires set for the PSI of the four corner weight when ready to travel.
I'd only had the coach out for a few hundred miles of driving, after the Road Kings and MCU's were installed. This is our first long (for us) road trip.

Scale of 1 to 10, my opinions:

-OEM's Toyo's, and Koni Adjustable with front on setting 1 = 5 (porpose, and bottom out, front end wander)
-Mich's and OEM Koni with front adjusted to 4th setting, road hieght adjusted to top of setting range = 6.5 (no bottom out, two bounces, and a bit more stable on front end wander)
-Mich's, Road Kings, MCU's and all set and ready to go = 9 (Not stiff, but well controlled, no front end wander, mountain 's' curves side to side setting, very much controlled by the MCU's. Passing trucks did not seem to bother the coach before, but shifting side winds would cause the coach to studer some by the wind. Road Kings and MCU's now seem to have really contained the side wind studer or push.
Don't get me wrong, though I look for the safety edge of 'BMW vs Cadilac' handling (old floating Cad's, some of the new Cad's are a hoot to drive:)!) - this is still a 39Klbs loaded and ready to go rig. It is not a boy racer. I do feel much more 'in control', and find driving much more relaxing.
Value? Well, I had substantial credits from 1st owner, as part of the purchase agreement. The MCU's and Road King, spread out say over 5+ years, I feel is money well spent. I feel I would have probably gone the same way, without the credit.
I would suggest the Road Kings first, see how you like them. Then if you want more, go with the front MCU's only, and see. Add the rear's if you want a bit more...

Best to all,

Smitty (In the Teton's, and loving it!)
