Drawers

When I took my Coach in for the first punch list I complained about how difficult it was to open the silverware drawer and the one underneath. My slides have a spring loaded latch mechanism built in at the back end of the slide. The mechanic reached in and did something to loosen the holding power. Now of course my drawers won't stay in sliding out on right hand curves especially inadequate interstate ramps.
I have taken the drawers out and see the mechanism but cannot figure out what can be changed to adjust the tension. Anyone have any experience with these?
I have tried the Velcro on the door face and frame which helped but didn't solve the problem completely and they are wearing out.

John, The slides are most likely made by Accuride (santa fee springs Calif.)and the plastic part at the rear of the rails spring loaded to help hold the drawer closed. They are lifetime guaranty. Call or e-mail them and they will ship new ones to you. They snap in but some you have to remove the rail to replace. You need to know the color as that is how they set the load.

If they are the latches with balls on either side and an arrowhead looking thing that they grab, they can be tightened by increasing the spring pressure on the balls. A small screwdriver in the end will let you tighten the spring pressure. If they are the type that uses 2 plastic clamps expand the arrow head looking thing to put more pressure on itself when closed.

I do not move frequently, so use a bungee cord through the handles to ensure they stay closed. Especially the ones that are heavily loaded, like with soda cans, V8 cans, etc. Not elegant, but saves the drawers while moving. I will be interested to see the "proper" method of adjusting the tension.
