Back up light out

Yahoo Message Number: 69799
My left back up light is out. Does anyone know how to access the bulb so I can replace it.

Thanks,
Dan

Don't know if this will apply to your year/model or not.
On our rig the bulbs are in a socket assembly that can only be accessed from within the engine compartment.
There are 4 screws holding this in place -- one at the top, one at the bottom and one on each side. You may need a small 1/4" socket with screwdriver bit or L-shaped screwdriver to get to the screws.
Once you have the screws out you can pull the assembly out...while you don't have to, you can also take the time to remove the connector and clean it.
It can be a real pain to get it out so we have replaced all 3 bulbs when we had to change one bulb.
Also, before you re-install, check that all of the bulbs are working (in the socket assembly). We had an assembly fail due to corrosion and had to replace the entire assembly.
If you have a bad assembly, find the part number on it and look it up on the internet as CC used off-the-shelf socket assemblies. For example, on our rig it is from a Dodge RAM pickup truck.

Good luck!

On mine there is a plug that you turn counterclockwise about 1/4 turn and remove the plug. It's not easy to reach unless you have long arms. It is a Ford pickup assembly. Check the bulb to ensure that it is indeed burned out. Then I cleaned up the plug with contact cleaner from Radio Shack and used some electrical grease from the auto parts store. Check the new light b/4 returning to the assembly. Should be good to go!
