Hydrogen conversion?? Calling all engineers to check this out!

Yahoo Message Number: 70879
HI all,

I have not been on the groups site for a long time, but I saw an article on the Arizona Star website : http://www.azcentral.com/community/chandler/articles/2011/05/13/20110513chandler-company-converts-vehicles-hydrogen-hybrids.html
about this company that makes a conversion kit for RV. truck, car, bus engines that they claim increase MPG, obviously is clean and is easyily installed. They include a link to their installation manual online. The company website is www.h2purepower.com .
I was hoping that some of you knowledgeable engineers would check this out and tell us what you think. This is WAY above my pay grade and knowledge, so I am asking for input. I am concerned this is a scam, but if it is for real, could be really helpful. I am very skeptical at this point, but hoping it is for real. How about it??
Someone with technical skills and knowledge, please check it out and give is a rundown on this device. Is it a scam or can it work??
Thanks a bunch! And a big hello to all my old friends... hope all is well. This has been a real rollarcoaster ride for the last 10 years, hasn't it?? Rosemary Mancillas

See this location for one explanation -

There' s a law called "conservation of energy"? - whatever energy we put into something, that's the most we can get out of it. We add energy to water to make oxygen and hydrogen, but whatever energy we get back can't be more than we added.

In fact you won't break even, your mileage will likely drop.

Well, Lee, the article and subsequent comments pretty much dispel the claims of this device working as claimed however, I've got a DeLorean sitting idle in the driveway... you think the hydrogen conversion would work on the Flux Capacitor?

No Bill!

Doc, Doc, you're going to need gigavolts to get er' going! Are there thunderstorms in your area so you can capture a lighting bolt!
Plan B. As a safer option I suggest a can of beer, just opened so carbonation is optimal. The only challenge is to be sure that the Flux Capacitor will burp the carbonated gases into the engine at the timing apex.
Good luck Doc and be careful, I don't want to Kill Bill. See you on the other side!

Rosemary I made a hydrogen converter about 20 years ago. It was made from perforated stainless metal in a box just like a battery. It did make hydrogen, I found out the hard way. I opened the box and scooped out some foam, put it on the ground and put a match to it. My wife came running out of the house because it exploded like a cherry bomb. I never produced enough to help mileage.

Well let me tell you the truth.

If you add 3 tablespoons of pixie dust to the water and put deer whistles on each side of the front cap you'll have to stop every 200 miles and offload some fuel.
I usually find someone at rest stop who will help me out and let me siphon it into their tank.

Ah well... it was a nice thought.

Thanks for the link. It was an interesting discussion. I keep hoping someday they can perfect a useable fuel cell technology for vehicles. I am not sure that will happen in my lifetime. But who knows? Does anyone in this group keep up with that stuff that knows what is happening? I went to the link about the BMW fuel cell car experiment, but it was several years old.

...well, I guess it's "Back to the Future" to dream.

Thanks,
Rosemary
