Pressure washer use

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick question. I don't see anything in the CC manuals, can I use a pressure washer on the exterior and roof ? Any cautions if I can? Thanks,
Bob

Yes, you can use a pressure washer. However you must be aware of the pressure you are using when spraying the rig.
I blew out my antenna lead sealant the first time I cleaned the roof with the pressure washer. I thought I had dialed down the pressure, but not enough.

The resulting leak repair consumed some time in the rainy season.
Normally, I do not use any pressure except from a hose end sprayer. That appears to be more than adequate unless loaded with slow moving dead bugs.

Bob,

Most truck wash companies use soap and pressure water jets.
My Home Depot machine puts out 1,700 PSI. I never had any problem. I use it often but, with some cautions. Spray downward if possible. Avoid directing the spray into certain areas like the refer intake, dryer vent, furnace exhaust, window weep holes and slide out seals. Also keep the wand well away from the coach and keep it moving. Use the broad spray head. Do not use needle spray and do not concentrate pressure on sealed seams. You may blow out some aging sealant.
1,200 PSI is equivalent to hurricane velocity but, we create similar pressures going down the highway at 60 MPH in a rainstorm with a headwind.... That is in addition to the natural vacuum created inside of the coach by moving through the air. (Bernoulli's Principle for you physics buffs).

Keep the pressure washer away from your duo-pane windows. I have been told that is a major cause of fogging.
