Door awning

newbie question here: I have electric/automatic Girard awnings on my CC 2006 Intrigue. The door awning was supposedly added afterward and has no identifying maker. It is a manual awning with a crank; it has two silver looking spring-loaded latches below the awning mount and it appears that the awning may slide along a track(?) Does anyone know what the two silver looking latches are? what they are for and how to operate? or are they to attach something? No instructions were included for the single awning above the door. thanks in advance,

The long handled crank is stored in a cargo bin. The crank, by inserting the crook of the crank into the rear of the two silver spring receivers, is used to pull the awning forward moving the awning further forward over the entry door. The opposite receiver is used to move the awning back to the original traveling position. The crank handle also has a round silver ball that is used to extend the awning and retract it by inserting the ball into a round doughnut like receptacle located near the silver spring loaded receivers on the underpart of the awning and then turning the handle to the right to extend the awning and turning the handle to the left to retract to original traveling position. All old fashioned manual operations......
Sometimes it is very difficult to see when you are looking into the bright sky. My awning case and receivers are painted black and so I sometimes have a 2nd person shine a flashlight to see the receivers.....

That's exactly what I needed to know and the explanation was perfect; I could operate the awning, but the slide didn't cooperate until more force was used; guess a little lube is in order now that it's operational. Thanks so much for such a clear description.
