Leaking shower sky light

I need some help with a leaking sky light over our shower.
After heavy rain we get a small amount of water between the 2 layers of the sky light. (Maybe a tea spoon of water). I've been up on the roof a dozen times over the past few months and sealed around the edges to the point I've given up with the sealer.
Question - Has anyone experienced any pin holes or fine cracks in their outer skylight layer that may let in some water? (It's always along the center/high side of the skylight where the water is). I've looked for pin holes etc but can't see any.

Is there a clear coat I can paint over the sky light to seal it?

Bruce, I had a leak in the skylight. The water wound up in between the two pieces and I found a hairline crack in the sealant. It wasn't on the edge but up about an inch or so. I was headed south into the desert so I waited until I got into the heat and the water evaporated. I then sealed up the little crack in the sealant.

The leak in my skylight was from the dicor sealant around the edges. Although there looked to be 20 tubes worth (just kidding) of sealant applied I found very small cracks in the dicor that when pressed oozed a bit of water. I removed all the old caulk and re-caulked. It leaked again so I put eternabond on it and no more leak.

Hello,

Whenever I have leaking anything I try to remove all the old sealant, because I found doing any type of lay over is just temporary at best. I know skylight manufactures include a couple pin holes for the inner layer to the outer so moisture can escape between the two layers. Now I have found fine long cracks along the top or at the corners which are the ones that need to be R&R with a new one, but 9 times out 10 it's just removing all the old sealant and sometimes the skylight so I could put new putty tape along the edges for a better seal and inspect for any damage. Hope this helps.
