04 Allure Transyn Roll Call

Yahoo Message Number: 74194
When we bought our coach, we had Cummins Coach Care do a dyno, and over all inspection. I asked two different times, and both times the Service Writer stated '04 has transyn', and no service required, other then filter. (Had 13K on it then, now just over 19K.)
I've also read in other posts, that if the it had transyn, I would find a sticker stating this on either the trans dip stick tube, or elsewhere within the engine compartment. I see no such such sticker.
Going in for service at Colton Truck on Tuesday, and I'm sure they will be able to tell by checking the fluid for me.

But, just wondering what other 04 Coach owners see in their rigs?

1) Transyn? Y/N
2) Sticker? If yes, where is it located?

If and Allure, what is your coach number?

Best to all,
Smitty

Smitty,

I have an 04' Inspire, bought it new, and the Transynd tag is on the tranny dip stick and the engine coolant reservoir. I have 45,000 miles on mine and fluid and filter were changed out at 5,000 miles (break in fluids) then again at 6 years which was about 38,000 miles. Colton Truck should be able to tell - never used them.

Like I said, if the 04 was built in 03 the transmission had transynd in it, but CC topped off and filled the radiator with dexron, polluting the system, thus only making it a Dexron warranty and service maintanance schedule. Jan. 1 04 and after Transynd was added to fill the coolant system making it an all Transynd situation and 4 years 48,000 miles. I had to pay CC $450.00 to flush and refill my coach with Transynd on September 14 2003 for delivery Sept 16, 2003. TWI 11731

Thomas - thanks for repeating this. My confusion, and thus the Roll Call, was because I have no sticker anywhere that states transynd (and thanks for the spelling, I drop the D often).
Just wondered what other Allure owners saw in their coaches, from the this ERA.
Does the color make a difference? I have not thought of pulling the dip stick and looking. I'm used to a slight red color in other cars and trucks. Going from memory, the fluid seems almost clear on this units dip stick. (Suppose a white rag wipe would indicate any actual color.) I'll be getting the rig out later today, and will look at the color...

My 03 Allure, built in 02, did not have Transyn (sp?). I had it put in in 06 and again in 08. The Transyn is clear in color.

I did look at the trans dip stick when I pulled the coach out. I detected no coloration, to perhaps a light grey color. I again looked for stickers, but saw none. Our coach is a bit older number then Georges, so I would have expected ours to also not have the transynd.
Only 19K on it now, but at 6 years + of age, I'll have it changed. Colton Truck should be able to positively identify if it is transynd.
I'll also have the analysis run on this, along with the engine oil, and that should give me a good baseline going forward.

When I had issues of replacing my radiator and flushing the tranny to get rid of the water and coolant contamination, the transynd was bright red just like Dexron. Maybe just at tint of sparkle in the sun that Dexron doesn't have, but don't hold me to that. I know when it was 4 years old the transynd had a tint of orange to it where the dexron I've seen starts to turn hues of umber/red cross.

Just wanted to confirm that this unit did have TES295 Transynd.
It did not have a label in the dip stick tube, or anywhere we could see.
We did go ahead and replace it as part of our 'final baseline' of the coach. Only 19K on it, but over 6 years old.
