Storing Coach without Electric Hook-UP

We are going to have to store our coach in a spot with no electric hook-up. Since it is outdoors I am going to investigate solar panels but in the mean time I am thinking of just disconnecting the negative battery cables and checking battery voltage on a weekly basis. Thoughts?

I have a single 125 watt panel flat-mounted on the roof of my 'ol Magna and it provides a maximum of 5 amps in full sun... Usually can count on 3 to 4 amps even on cloudy days, which barely keeps up with my parasitic draw...
I think two 100 watt of panels would keep your batteries fully charged...

There was a vendor in Quartzsite selling 210 Watt panels for about $600.
Might be easier than two panel set up.

I store our coach without being plugged in and watch voltage as you intend to do. About once every 3 weeks, I plug it in for a couple hours, or run the gen, to top the batts. You could do the same with the gen and running it is good thing. I have manual disconnect switches on the chassis and house system which you need to use or unhook because the batts can parasite drain. Works fine in keeping everything topped off where it needs to be.

I leave mine sometimes. It seems to make it without anything on the 4 solar panels that it has except in the summer when it gets around 90 or above then I notice the time on the generator starts going up. But I also leave everything running including the satellite and refrigerator, DVRs. I don't shut anything off.

Store mine without electricity for up to four weeks without a problem. Have disconnect switches on both batteries.

My chassis batterty disconnect came with the rv and is located in the well for that battery

We have stored our rig without hookups for over 10 years. I do move the rig once per month either for service or use, but have had no battery problems due to storage.
I always use the house battery disconnect, and when I had weak starting batteries, I used the chassis battery disconnect. We have no solar panels.
We carry two 8D and 4 6v golf cart batteries plus a battery dedicated to the generator. Worst case, I figure a car battery will start the generator which will then charge the house batteries which will boost the starting batteries.

We added solar panels to our 01 intrigue back in '02 and have never had a problem with the batteries until this year when I had to buy new ones as they just had gotten "too tired to work well". We stored it for six months without checking it while cruising on the boat and it started upon our return on the first try and all house batteries at float voltage. Try it, you'll like it.
