Rear Camera

We took our 2003 Allure for a road trip and the first thing I noticed was that the rear camera was not working. The light was on when I flipped the switch, but no pic. So I turned it off. Tried it several time, still no pic. When we got home several hours later, the switch light was out when I tried the camera again. I'm going to look in the files for info. But has anyone else had this problem? Thanks, John 03 Allure 30951

Check the RCA pin video cable connectors at the camera in the closet and at the display. They are not a

good choice for mobile applications unless the sophisticated gold type with center spit pin and re-

enforced grounds, which are very expensive. I cut mine off and spliced and soldered the connections.

Reply: I assume you have the Pioneer system? Do you have the extensive instruction books? I just got mine back from TurboTunes and it's working fine. It wouldn't go back in it's slot or respond to plus or minus tilt settings. Steve at TurboTunes is on the Net and he's very helpful.

After we accidentally hit the DC house disconnect switch by the door, our backup camera did not work anymore. We went into the pioneer set up menu and activated the camera again. Very easy after messing with it a few minutes. Seems to be a delay before it activates. It's also mentioned in the Users Guide page 2.12 under Pioneer. Good luck.

Have also had this happen - disconnected the harness at the rear of the Pioneer unit in the dash and waited 5 min. then reconnected. Fired right up - seems it just needed a reset.

Pete, I looked under the dash, and with all the ac hoses I'm unable to gain access to the rear of the Pioneer system. Did you have the same problem? John 03Allure30951

Just a follow up. We found the problem with our rear camera. There are 2 in-line fuses for the monitor. One is in a small black box just behind the monitor. The other was wrapped up in a coil of wires that were wire tied together. Only found it because we decided to follow the wires backward to the fuse panel. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn sometimes.
I am now in the process of removing the 3M film on the front of the coach. So far I have about 14 hrs in it. Hopefully the last quarter will be finished tomorrow.
