06 Inspire back AC not working right

Yahoo Message Number: 86527
Hi! Well we left MN and MI and are now in northern FL, turned on the AC, both worked for maybe 1/2 hour. The rear one now is humming and like it's trying to run and then quits. Do any of you have any ideas as to what we should do next? Thank you.

Most times it's the start capacitor; although both could be bad. Before you replace check the power to the coach and make sure it's full 50 amp and grounded. You can remove the cover, ground out unit, and remove the metal cover underneath. Make sure to discharge the capacitor and take a look. They usually are hard to miss if faulty (melted). Don't really know the make/model of your AC units, but most are very similar.

We have an 06 Inspire and I have replaced the starter cap in one of our units. But before you get into that if both only worked for a half hour, might be a power problem. I assume you are plugged in, so just for kicks turn the breaker off outside and start the gen and try one at a time on the gen.
Also when we had the start problem, the fan would run but vthe compressor would not. I called the manufacture ( RVP ), who were very helpful and they sent me the parts we needed to fix the problem.

We have an 08 Inspire with the same problem. Our units are Colemens. What make are yours? It's only the rear unit that's the problem and I wonder if it's unique to that make Gerry

Thank you all very much for your help w our rear AC problem. I went to the roof and took the top of the AC off. A stick was jammed in the fan and wrapped around a piece of metal. Once removed, AC worked and works great. That's a relief since we r in Florida now. Thanks again.
