Bert, try Sky Mountain RV Resort, Chama, NM, sites 1-8 on the Chama River. Wonderful owners, take the train ride over the mountains.

I agree with Mike on his recommendation of Sky Mountain RV Resprt and riding the train in Chama. We will do just that again in mid July of this year.

There are so many from the Alpen Rose in Durango, A great park in Pagosa Springs. If your a RR fan and in Chama the park on the south side of town on the river is acceptable. There are parks around Delores, in Silverton, Ouray, Creede, that allow you to explore the area. We like Salida area, even Leadville is interesting. If you want upscale there is the Aspen, Vail, and Breckenridge areas. If you like to the challenge of gaming theres Cripple Creek and Blackhawk areas. There are just to many areas to visit and explore, especially if your a rock hound or bird watcher. You can stay at Dakota Ridge RV park near Golden and Denver, Colorado. Golden is a great place to visit shops, museums, the best RR museum this side of Sacramento, Ca. Denver is like Portland to me. All the advantages of a big city and yet doesn't have the feeling of one. Colorado is a great place to visit if you like the outdoors. There are lots of jeep trails, bike trails walking trails and paths. Horse back riding, mountain climbing, national and state parks to visit. Everyone should climb Pikes peak once by rail or car and if your hike. I consider my self very fortunate to be with a days driving time to Southern Colorado.
Enjoy your stay in the Land of Enchantment, too. Santa Fe area is fun, the down town area fun to explore. You might want to attend an Opera at there famous facility. Its warm now in Albuquerque, but as they say it's a dry heat. Visit the biological gardens, take the tram up to Sandia peak, visit Old Town. Ride the Road Runner up to Sante Fe for $5.00 and save some gas. The Rocky Mountains from El Paso, to the Canadian line are a great Recreation area, whether in NM, Colorado, Wyo. or Montana. I love it all, but Colorado is my Home away from Home.

Unfortunately not much in Albuquerque. In my opinion American RV Park and High Desert are the 2 best parks and even they have negatives. American has more paving which reduces dust but sites are narrow and if you get up near the front, road noise is bad. Ask if they will allow you to ride around and choose a site. Drive the Enchanted Loop and go to Taos NM. Beautiful. Angel Fire veterans memorial is beautiful.

We have been exploring the areas you are talking about. See our blog at http://boonedocksllc.blogspot.com/
We stayed at High Desert in Albuquerque. It can be windy and dusty, but you will easily fit and it is very convenient to the highway system. We stayed at Roadrunner in Pojoaque for Santa Fe/Taos. Just a dusty gravel lot with full hookups but spacious sites. For Colorado Springs, we stayed at Falcon Meadow 20 miles northeast of town. We had a two week view of Pike's Peak and there are long sites, but again, gravel roads. We are currently at South Park in Englewood, Co for exploring Denver. It is the best one of the bunch by far. Paved roads, 55+ community, some trees, an urban oasis of a campground. But they strictly do not allow dogs if that matters to you.

We stay at the Ysleta Indian Reservation south of down town Albuquerque across the street from the Casino. You can grab the Road runner to down town and go all the way to Santa Fe. Whoops! I spelt Isleta the Texas way. I graduated from Ysleta High after all. "Go Indians".

We were there for two nights last week waiting for weather to pass in OK in our 42' and I recommend it highly. Easy access to Santa Fe, inexpensive diesel fuel nearby, close to Interstate, fun casino, fishing lake, and some of the best beef jerky we have eaten at the gas station.
