Brain trust question -plumbing

Ok, so having been a reading member of this forum for over 3 years now, I've come to realize there are very few problems that someone hasn't already experienced and found a reasonable solution. So I pose this question: If something (razor cartridge) went down the shower drain ( who knows how?) and you have a Sani-con macerater, what would be the best solution?
I have already tried the obvious to see if it is visible from the shower; no luck and very, very small opening. The access to the shower plumbing is, of course, very difficult and removing the drain a PITA.
My only thought to this point would be to put a piece of cheesecloth between the tank drain and the pump to catch the piece before running and ruining the pump.
What ideas do you folks have for me on this one? Except the obvious, which is to prevent it in the first place? TIA

On our Intrigue we are able to disconnect the 3inch hose feeding into the macerator pump and connect the old stinky slinky to the drain, then flush as if there had never been a sanicon connected. Had to do this when the sanicon hose escaped the under coach bin and got a bad case of road rash.
