Highway 111 in TN

We are traveling from Cookeville TN to Chattanooga TN and the Good Sam site recommends taking Highway 111 south. This is area has mountains and we have never traveled this highway. Our other option is Interstate but this is an hour longer route. Any advice is appreciated.

Don't have any info about Hwy 111 between Sparta and Chattanooga, but We just moved from Manchester TN to Crossville TN. From I-24, we took TN55 thru McMinnville which turns into US70S (not south) then we turned onto Hwy 111 to I-40 at Cookeville. Hwy 111 at the north end between Cookeville and Sparta is 4 lane very good road.

Thanks for mentioning the towns u have stayed in recently because we no so little about the beautiful areas in TN. Upon checking the atlas and TN it looks like both TN areas are lovely. We usually are on our way from the north to the south and only pass through TN. Thanks again.

We are now in Crossville TN at a beautiful little campground called Spring Lake. The park is situated around a small fishing lake. Gravel interior road but very well graded and not potholes, gravel sites with full hookups including cable TV and free wi-fi. Only $27.95 per night weekly rate. It's 4 miless off exit 322 off I-40 between Knoxville and Nashville. Shopping and restaurants within 5 miles. Easy drive to Fall Creek Falls State Park and many others. Love it here!
