Surge guard

Have the surge guard 40250 on 04 Affinity (103508) and it will allow gen and battery power but will not allow good(no faults) shore power to come in. Showing the number 227 at the bottom of the display. Do I need to replace complete box or what?

You don't say how you know you have good power coming in. If you checked the post and it is ok, have you checked at the transfer switch input for shore power to see if it is still good? Could be a poor connection between your shore cord and transfer switch.

Have 124 coming in on two legs with good ground at 60hz. Checked with muti meter at source and in surge guard box. It's just that the surge guard will not switch from gen to shore even thou the gen is off. Is there a way to manually switch it to shore until we can get a new surge guard? We are full time and running gen until we can get another box, three to five days.

You report 124V from each leg to neutral/ground. Do you therefore have 248V between the two legs? If not, I believe the Surge Guard will not like that as there could be the potential that the neutral could come overloaded.
Isn't there a key switch on the Surge Guard to override the Surge Guard. Or is the Transfer Relay failing?

If your coach is wired like mine, and it should be, the Surge Guard is not in play when using the generator or inverter. Only the shore power goes through the surge guard. You might also want to check your transfer switch before purchasing a new surge guard. The transfer switch is what swaps from shore to generator power, not the surge guard. Of course if the surge guard is not passing the shore power the transfer switch will not be able to swap over as it is voltage sensing.
Another test you might try is the connect a 120v 15amp extension cord to the coach and see if this makes any difference. This could possibly eliminate a bad neutral problem if there is one. The surge guard is very sensitive to neutral problems.

Surgeguard or transfer switch? Sounds like you are describing a transfer switch. If so should have a couple of large relays inside that may be stuck.

The TRC 40250 is a surgeguard and a transfer switch in one box. I was able to manually hold the switch down and get it to connect to shore power, everything working fine. Will call TRC and see if I can replace just the shore switch inside the box or if I have to replace the whole thing...

Nope you have to buy the whole unit. They will not sell parts or repair them. This is a good time to change it out to a Progressive unit.
