The magnetic strip on the shower door has stopped holding the door closed. Is there a quick fix or do I need to replace the strip? If it have to replace the strip, how do I get the old one out of the track? It seems pretty tight to me----thanks!

I purchased my replacement magnetic strip from Northwest RV in Eugene, OR a couple of years ago.
Replacement is flexible and slides into the channel from the top. A little soapy water helps lube it for installation. Do not use any non-water soluble lubes. Easy fix.

Hi Janie--

On our door there's a small plastic plug @ the bottom of the tract holding the magnetic strip in place...know this because ours kept coming off & the magnetic strip would fall down. Had to crazy glue it in. So I'm thinking if you gently pry it off you could remove the strip. Good luck.

I have the same door on my 2002 Affinity. I replaced the bottom clips a couple of years ago and they worked better but did not solve problem of them coming off. Last summer I had CC in JC replace to top roller assembly. That did the trick. Door has not had a problem since. I also had CC drill a small hole in the track so I could stop the door from moving.

Just for information I have to tell you that you do NOT want to break that curved door. Country Coach has over ten of them in stock and they are a heart stopping $4,500 + each. At least that is the figure I was told.

I have had trouble with the spring loaded plastic clips not holding the door in place for some time. Believe it or not, this morning one of them fell off the bottom of the door! This forced me to pull the door and examine. There is a metal plate that the plastic clip and spring are attached to. This plate fits into a groove in the bottom of the door. From what I can tell, the metal plate appears to have been glued in with epoxy (some white substance) or something like it. The other clip assembly is on the way out as well, and is canted in the wrong direction which is why the clips are not engaging with the track that holds the door against the rest of the shower. I am cleaning things up and will glue them in. I can see that if you too the plastic clip off and cut part of it, you would gain 1/3 of an inch of gripping ability into the track. You would need a slightly longer spring.
