Ford Edge Towing

I'm working on a 2011 Edge AWD Limited getting it ready to tow four down. I'm about to install Blue Ox base plates and found that on their web site they talk of pulling fuse #28 when getting it ready to tow. The Owner Manual states put the vehicle in neutral, leave the ignition on accessory and tow it.
I bought a blue Ox switch to eliminate removing that fuse before towing. I find that the switch allows the vehicle to run and everything seems normal.
Anyone towing and Edge please advise as to your procedure, especially that fuse #28!!

I have towed our 2011 Edge Limited for 2 years. Ours is not AWD but 2W Automatic, but in all other ways identical, even the Blue Ox base plate. We have never touched fuse #28 but did learn the battery will discharge over time unless you're driving it each day.
There are products to charge the car using a link to the chassis batteries to avoid a dead car battery . . . a wise investment IMHO. Maybe fuse #28 prevents that.

Tips - (1) Always try to start your car in Neutral at the end of the day before shifting to Park otherwise a dead battery in Park and you're not moving, period; (2) . The Edge is an easy tow.
