Kwikee Step Motor Question

Yahoo Message Number: 91884
I recently replaced the step motor for my Kwikee Series 42 entry steps. After installation, everything worked perfectly normal. Several days later when I moved the coach in preparation for a trip, the steps would not retract when starting the engine. I then removed the motor thinking that perhaps the motor was a "dud", but after removal and bench testing, the motor proved that it was okay. I then reassembled everything and the steps worked perfectly normal again. As you would expect, the very next morning when cranking the coach to begin our trip, the steps did not retract and I had to remove the linkage to retract the steps and get on the road. Does anyone have an idea as to why this would happen? The steps work perfectly with the step switch in either position immediately after the motor installation.

Thanks for your help!

Sounds like a loose (intermittent) connection either inside the motor or the external connections.

It could be the door switch adjustment.
