Dometic thermostat

I'm hoping to get some help on my thermostat. It is a Dometic Duo-Therm Comfort Control unit with four buttons. The problem is that the "on-off" switch on the bottom of the unit is getting very flaky. I have a very hard time getting the button to maintain contact to stay on. I haven't tried to take it apart yet for fear of disabling it entirely. Any advice on whether it can be fixed and how to do it? Failing that, any advice on whether it is a DIY job to replace it?

I have taken mine apart twice to make the contacts tight again. Requires very small tools and a lot of patience . Worked with a towel on the table to keep things from rolling around. There is a man in Colorado that rebuilds these units, but I can not recall his name. Maybe someone on the forum has that information. Bill Dane 99 Allure 30326

We have been tru this. Your 4 button Control center is no longer made. You have to replace with a 5 button control center. This also requires that you change out the Circuit boards in your roof top AC units. If you do this yourself you have to programs the dip switches on the circuit boards.
I had Kevin Wait at K & M Moblile R.V. Repair in Juction City Oregon. (541-953-61620 KVN.wt.7629@... do the install. He also was able to get the parts.

Jerry...I have an alternative for you that also enhances the thermostat function.
I modified my thermostat by connecting a modified timer across the the switch contacts. The timer would normally make accessible 115 volts to some device, the mod simply made a switch out of it. This allowed me to turn on the unit in the morning at a preset time. In your case it would also bypass a bad switch. As I recall, my timer was a mechanical type not the electronic kind. The wiring can be easily concealed.back up through the thermostat and inside the cabinet over to the timer (plugged into an outlet).
