LP detector alerts

Looking for some ideals regarding LP alerts from older coaches. I have a 99 Intrigue recently when the furnace come on I will get an alert on LP detector. I assume it is detecting unburned LP. Does this mean that the burner is bad or just dirty? Are parts available or will I need to replace the furnace?Since it only alerts I assume the detector is good. Any Ideals would be appreciated.
