Ron,

IF you don't need the pure sign wave, which unless you're running specific items that require it might not.... I can get you re-maned units for far less than current models, re-built from former xantrex employee (actually a former Heart - before the buyout) who started a inverter repair business. Comes with 1 year warranty and probably can get the same model or one very close. We've been using his rebuilds for over 10 years now with great success.

Or you can send yours in and get it rebuilt.

I'll be back in on Monday.

Ron, I am going to install Magnum Energy stuff that I bought here http://www.imarineusa.com/
I am installing the MSH 3012 M inverter, the ME RC50 remote, and the ME AGS-N auto gen start.
iMarine had the best prices I found on the net. I should note that these are new components and not rebuilt.

Don,

I assume you have a remote for your Heart up in the front of your coach. I am curious as to how you get the phone cable from the Magnum all the way up there since I hear the Heart/Xantrex one is not compatible.

I currently have the RC7GS up front. In looking at the phone cable it is a four wire and that is compatible with the new Magnum controller I picked out. I might have missed something but I don't think so. It might require a change of connector wiring but that part is easy.

Don,

You are correct, the four wire to the controller does need to be modified. The end of the wire at the controller needs to have the four wires reversed. You can do this manually by changing out the connecter or by finding a small pigtail that will do the job for you. I found such a pigtail at an electronic shop that carried all kinds of wiring components. However, I suggest you talk to Magnum (they are a great help) to confirm that what I have just said is still true.

Lyle,

I thought I remembered seeing that in the manuals when I was researching the changeout. I would rather install a new plug on the cable than add another junction in the mix. It isn't hard to change the plug if you have the tools. The inverter and associated parts changeout will happen when we also install a residential refer in a few weeks/

Don,

If you are adding gen start remember you can pick up the "on" signal from the genset hour meter on the panel next to the controller.
Where are you having the work done and where are you? I have been very happy with both the Magnum PSW inverter and the Samsung refer. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance along the way. We are in Las Cruces until Wednesday and then heading for Tucson/Wickenburg/Phoenix and then back to Las Cruces.

Lyle, thanks for the offer and if I run into trouble I'll get in touch. I am currently in Yuma but leaving for Earp. CA tomorrow for a few days and then into Orange County for taxes.
Our upgrade is going to be done by Amazing Creations in Junction City. All of the hardware is sitting there just waiting. We should be there the first week of April

Lyle, are you still around to give some advise? I am having trouble hooking up the AGS module. CC didn't wire to plans fro what I can tell. Do you have a schematic of how you hooked yours up so you could post in the files section so I could get it. With this new board, you can't do private email which really stinks. Thanks

Don,

It would help to know a bit more about what the difficulty is. I am assuming you are installing the Magnum 2812. I will get back to you on email with some photos and I will look for the schematic.
