Diesel Exhaust Smell in Coach, HELP

Yahoo Message Number: 101506
We have had diesel exhaust smell in our coach since we purchased it 4 years ago.
After I resealed the engine access cover a few years ago we thought the problem was solved as the smell seemed to be mostly gone. Recently we have been noticing the smell more. Just before our last trip I once again removed the engine access cover and resealed it. The odor seems to come and go to some degree but rarely completely gone.
We have a washer/dryer in the back of the coach that exhausts to the outside.
I have plugged the vent cover with foam, but that doesn't seem to have solved the problem.
Any suggestions as to what might be the cause would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked around the genset? Any possibility a leaky  vent hose letting fumes off the genset?

Check the exhaust manifold gaskets.

RJ, check your exhaust pipes, muffler and tailpipe. Mine rotted out completely a few years back. Also, does your tailpipe protrude outside the hole in the end cap? I added the chrome tip years ago.
Another place to check is the rear camera access cover in the bedroom wardrobe. If exhaust is collecting in the engine compartment, it will climb the inside of the rear cap.

RJ,

I would suggest the same as Jay did and check the exhaust system and even the exhaust manifold, also if you open the engine door and look up in between the back fiberglass cap and coach back steel wall there is a foam seal there about 4 wide that seals that area with sealant and tape. if you can put your hand up there then its not sealed.
that will allow dirt and ordors in the coach. also re check the engine hatch to ensure its sealed good luck

The problem was an exhaust leak. A flex pipe that connects two ridged exhaust pipes was leaking at both ends.
I ordered 5" exhaust clamps and sealed the leaks.
Thanks for all the good suggestions.
