Checking paint on our coach under warranty???

I am wondering if any one has had the experience trying to get the factory to repainted areas that are cracking under warranty? As we know are totally out of the warranty period, but as a courtesy, if anyone has had the experience. I had a friend who took had a Newmar and they fixed theirs under warranty.
Any input would be helpful before we contact the factory.

The company that bilt your coach is no longer in business, so it is very doubtful.

What about recalls? My 1998 Intrigue has an un-performed NHTSA safety recall on it, which I assumed would not be possible to have fixed because Country Coach itself is long since out of business. The dealership where it was purchased new here in Minnesota is still around, but they told me the same thing that basically I am out of luck because they would have no way to get the parts supplied by Country Coach or be reimbursed for labor.
I'm sure there's no getting blood from a turnip, but thought maybe there are some more significant rules around safety recalls than warranty repairs, where maybe the owners of a brand or intellectual property etc. have some obligation.

While George is correct, there is no factory legal body, the physical body is there, complete with molds, and a cadre of knowledgeable people. You can walk around it. Getting them to pay to resolve the problem is unlikely.

This goes way back, but this is what I was told by some folks who should know.

Corning made the flat fiberglass panels and sold them to a number of RV manufactures. Corning knew the panels would exhibit "secondary curing" if they were over heated by sunlight. This secondary curing (overheating) caused surface fibers to partially delaminate and exhibit the dreaded checking. Corning warned the manufacturers to paint these panels with light colors only, but many, including Country Coach, ignored that advice. Mine shows checking on the dark burgundy colors, but not on the lighter tan and beige colors.

County Coach, while they were still viable, negotiated a settlement with Corning for the defective panels. I don't think any of those $$$ ever reached an owner, and now, of course the money is gone.

That's they I heard it.

That's pretty much the story as I heard it from THE PAINT DEPARTMENT, OMC, and Country Coach employees. Originally I was told the issue was confined to Allures, Inspires and a few Tributes. I have an o4 Intrigue without those issues. But do have some issues caused by techs not being careful and spilling transmission fluid on the paint below the rear access engine panel causing the clear coat to fail eventually and flake off. You do know that Country Coach declared bankruptcy several years ago so what company are you asking to fix your paint job?

All info so far sounds correct to me, based on what I'd been told. Also this problem, as I heard it, was mostly confined to those 3 models during roughly the 2004-6 model years.

It's not confined to any particular model. I've seen checking on Magna's, Affinities and Intrigues. It's widespread to most manufacturers.
