RE MINI RALLY

Hi Fred, Looks like there is interest in a mini rally in April or May.
I had indicated that our best time is to travel down to arrive on a Sunday thereby missing the weekday traffic and I mentioned three Sundays, 4/18, 5/16 or 5/23 that were good for us.

Dr. Stan mentioned a preference for May.

Can you identify which week suits you please.
If we can narrow it down to a specific week we will be able to contact the RV park and get cost details, etc. and then post it and hopefully attract other members.
For those who do not know, Solvang and the surrounding area is very pretty and interesting. For those traveling without a TOAD there is a small bus that picks up right outside the RV park and travels in a loop for about 45 minutes for one flat fare. Great for sight seeing and the drivers are great guides.

May 16 2004 looks good.

Suggested approach: Cover topics in meeting room and then look at each other's coach inovations, fixes, changes and problems. Have a set of coveralls as we will be looking under our coaches and engine area if interested. Picture taking also is a good way to document. On my coach, covers will be removed to point out components and relate them to documentation. Do it yourself maintenance can be covered.
There will be plenty of literature on the Valley made available - wine tasting, golf, mountain tour, shopping, etc.

The Solvang Antique Center on First St has the scales you are considering. You might also check out the new higher end store - Art For Living Gallery on Fifth and Mission.

We would like to be able to attend your Mini Rally. I know I would learn a lot and see some good innovations from fellow CC owners. Also our coaches could meet again.
They must have gone down the assembly line together. My Allure is 30592.
However, we are in Michigan and can't make it to the West Coast this spring.
If this develops into an annual thing, maybe we can make a future one.

Too bad you folks aren't doing this in conjunction with the August reunion rally in Eugene. We have been planning to see that area, and will try to tie it in with our trip over from the Phoenix area up to Oregon. But, having just returned from Vegas, and going back out at the end of this month to Tucson, and back in August, we will have logged more miles than a Greyhound bus driver.
