Accessing rear of Dometic 1492

I need to replace the water line to the ice maker on the back of the fridge. I also want to replace the cooling fans which are located up high on this model. I am wondering if it's going to be possible to reach up there either via the outside access panel on the side of the coach or coming down through the roof vent if I pull the refrigerator out partially about a foot or so. Has anyone ever tried this on a Magna like mine where the refrigerator is not mounted in a slide out? I would hate to have to pull the entire refrigerator out all the way just for these minor repairs.

The ice maker shutoff for my coach is under the righthand drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator. If your coach is the same you will be able to access the path to the solenoid at the back of the refrigerator from the outside panel.

Gaylord I want to replace the line from the solenoid to the back of the refrigerator that goes to the ice maker. I want to know if I pull the fridge out about a foot can I stick my hand up from the outside and replace that plastic line to the ice maker. I might put copper in if I can. I'm trying to avoid completely pulling the heavy massive refrigerator into the coach. I know exactly where the solenoid is.

On my 2000 MAGNA the water shut off valve for the ice make is located in the rear access panel behind the refrigerator and runs down. If you remove the drawers below the refrigerator you can see the tube that runs to the valve. I did replaced the water shut off solenoid valve on the back of the refrigerator from the rear access panel.

You may be able to get to the fans from the top vent. There is a screen over the vent that you will need to cut off to get to the fans. Once that is removed if you have a skinny arm and the screws are pointed up you may be able to replace the fans. My fans were held in with long Philips head screws. Spend extra money to get super quiet fans. They are hard mounted to the wall and if they are not good quality fans you will hear them.

The other end of the tube is at the water shutoff and should be accessible without moving the fridge. There may be enough extra tubing coiled up to preclude running a new line. If you need to replace the line from the solenoid up to the ice maker the fridge will have to come out.
