LED Turn Signal Conversion
Yahoo Message Number: 113463
I've recently replace the stop lamps, turn signals and back up lamps with LED equivalents. WHen I first installed the they worked great, except they are polarity sensitive, so I had to (by trial and error) make sure they were inserted correctly. Today after installing the lamps about a week ago, the turn signals on the rear of the coach wouldn't work unless I replaced the LEDs back to incandescent bulbs. The front LED turn signals worked, the backup LED signals worked and the LED stop lamps worked just fine. The LED supplier (M4PRoducts.com) has a package insert that says that if there's a CANBUS system (warns if a turn signal is out by rapidly blinking) then you need a resistor. Weirdly they worked when first installed and then a week later stopped working.
I've ordered the resistors (also available from M4PRoducts) but am curious to see if anyone else that has replaced their lamps with LEDs has had the same problem. I've also replaced the headlamps and hi-beams with LEDs and am curious to see how they work. I'm wondering if anyone has had any problems with the LEDs blinking on/off when in DRL mode. My coach has the headlamps come on when placed out neutral in a low power DRL mode.
