Inverter Chargers

My old Heart Interface, 2000 watt Inverter/Charger has been reliable for about 20 years. But, now it is so old that it forgot how to work. It will not pass 110 Volts to my house circuits. Repair tech says I need to repair or replace it. Anyone have a re-builder, repair or replacement source? Any ideas on which one to buy if mine can not be repaired? Best value? I am OK with modified sine wave. I do not need true sine wave unless it is such a bargain that I can't pass it up.

As far as repairs go, I had a 1999 Heart Interface in a HR Imperial repaired by an Authorized Xantrex repairman in Houston about 8 years ago. Still working. You can find one by searching online for Xantrex repair. They have various repair places throughout the country. If I recall I had a board replaced and it cost about $500-600. I did the r&r of the unit and then took it to them. I believe there are 3 boards plus a motherboard inside the unit. With a 20 year old unit it might be best to spend a little more and get a new one. I believe Amazon has them for around $1200 for a 2000w msw.

You might shop the price on the Magnum Me2012. Add the remote, think the would be the RC-50 for the Mexxx series(?), for ease of status and controlling. And if you have an older Echo charger fro the charger, the Magnum Smart Battery Charger (SBC) module is a nice add on.

Believe the Inverter/charger can be found in the low $900 range without much work, even high $800's from time to time. And from memory about $150 for the remote few module. Don't recall what the SBC costs. Get the battery temp sensor too, as it will work well with the charger.

Magnum makes a solid unit, good tech support.

Should set you up for another 20 years:)!

But then again, if you find a shop close by, would not hurt to ask to have them look over your existing unit, and see how much it would be to repair:)!

Best to you,

Hi Daron,
I had the same problem with a Heart Inverter/Charger Power Manager. I tried to see if it could be repair and went to several sources on the internet and they wanted ridiculous
prices for a circuit board that they all said was the problem and they had the only one left. I asked if there was any kind of a reset button inside the unit and was assured by all there
was none. It was a 1999 not sure if we are talking about the Same Model but I went on to explore for the circuit board looking for any information I might find. Looking for all the
boards I could find, with all the power off I lifted the inside tray with all the relays on it. It has a handle on it for doing so and found a small circuit board in the left rear. It had a
very small square red button that looked like a reset, got a wooden stick pressed it, then closed it up and it has been working for a good 10 years since. Hope this may be of help.
Good luck and take care, Chris
