My head lights come on intermittently they will stay on about 15 seconds go off and come back on a few minutes later , this all happens when not running and parked .
I have replaced the smart wheel module and it still happens. I-assume I need to replace the module on the steering wheel below the spring and/or the module on the wheel itself. Do you have these parts or another solution?

I kill the chassis to keep it from happening when I am not around it doesn't happen with any regularity.

I had a smartwheel problem with my 2007 Allure which I documented in a 10 year old post on this website.

10 year old post below:

"I had a SmartWheel problem for a year before it was finally solved at a CC Rally. Mine was intermittent. Sometimes could travel 1000 miles before failure and other times 50 miles. It would resolve itself. So bad that I wired an emergency windshield wiper switch on the dash. When I lost the ability to set Cruise Control, my Windshield wipers would fail too. Even tried a new clock spring for the steering wheel. There are 4 wires in the clock spring, when depending on their respective voltages would activate some smartwheel functions. The only two functions that were a problem for me were Cruise Control and Wipers. In my case, the problem was so intermittent that it would never fail at a repair shop

Problem was traced to a bad crimp on one of the four wires where it entered the molex connection that plugs into the control box on the firewall to the left of the steering wheel below the dash, near the floor, as I recall. In fact, it looked like the one wire was held in place by only two copper strands. New pin crimped and problem permanently solved."

As I recall there is a connection from the smart wheel to the bottom of the steering column, and another jumper which connect from there to the control box on the firewall. Maybe check those after checking the molex plug in the control box on the firewall.

You could probably wire an emergency head light switch like I did for the wipers (didn't want them to stop in a rain storm).

Could be the circuit in the two Bussman fuse boxes in the front run bay. Poor connection on the headlight circuit. I had the same issue with my HWH leveling circuit, had to put in an inline fuse to bypass the fuse in fuse box. The fuse will check fine, but will not flow current because of the bad connection. These Bussman fuse boxes are notorious for there bad connections causing intermittent electrical problems. Looks like a lot of work to replace the fuse box, so try to fix the individual circuit.

I had the same problem. I pulled a fuse in a bussman fuse block, put the fuse back in and the circuit didn't work. The fuse holders have a tendency to back out if the fuse is not pushed in perfectly straight. I reached in the back of the bussman box and was able to push the fuse holder back in place. The circuit reactivated. Hope this helps.

Also had an intermittent problem, however mine was the horn would honk. I replaced the clock spring, and the module. That didn't fix the problem. A friend had his electrical engineer look at it and finally found a defective resistor in the circuit board in the steering wheel. If all else fails you could try replacing the steering wheel circuit board.
