I would like to buy a cover for our CC. Anyone have recommendations for a quality cover. I have seen the cheap ones rip to shreds in one storm.

Tom,
This is just my experience on a cover. First my CC is suppose to be a 40' but
It measures about 41.5 foot. So I got a cover for a 42 foot. I'm in my early 70's
And it took everything I had to get it on the roof of my coach. Then once up there
I was not comfortable walking on the roof trying to move this heavy A$$ cover around
To fit or put it on. When it came time to remove it all I could so was pull it to one side
And end up rolling it into a large bundle. About twice the size that it originally came
Packed in the box. Then trying to unroll this bundle up on the roof and trying to make sure
I have unrolled it so the front it toward the front was another nightmare.

The first cover lasted 3 months, it ripped at the air horns, Sirius antenna and the wind turbine for
My awning. Since I purchased the extended warranty from camping world I got it replaced.

The second one lasted 4 month, tearing about the same places again. Got that replaced with
Some arguments or disagreements with CW over it replacement.

Sold the 3rd one for a loss, and found parking for the MH inside a building.

I'm know I'm painting a bleak picture about the cover, but it is not the easiest thing
To put on or take off.

Dave...I had a chuckle at your expense. I apologize. But I am betting your experience is like many others.

The best cover is wax.

I used my cover once but was lucky enough to find a sucker who would buy it.

Experience was exactly like mine when I had a 36' Inspire. I tied a rope around the bundle and hauled it up to the roof. Learned the hard way not to do this in the wind...it acted like a kite! Always ripped at the horns or the wind gauge. I could usually duct tape it together to get a second season, but then had to fight over the warranty. Never could get it to a size that would fit any box for storage when I removed it. I went through three covers and found the ultimate solution----bought a 45'Magna for which they do not make covers. Seriously, the cover issue became a big safety liability for me and, especially, my wife.

Covered parking now!

We tried one several years ago. Stuck to the roof, Very hard to unstick. Very difficult to handle getting off once unstuck. We never purchased another one. 40 foot Inspire

I agree with the difficulty in installing RV covers. BUT....

The last 5 years I have had my Teton 5th Wheel covered with a CUSTOM ADCO Sunbrella Cover during the seven very hot summer months in the Palm Springs/Desert area. Cover is still in good shape with no tears. While I forget the exact numbers, about 8-10 moving blankets and 15 5-10# sand bags are used -- these are used to cover the sharp items. Then the custom cover is put on over them and secured.

Now the other trick -- don't do it yourself!!!! At Outdoor Resorts Palm Springs, some of the professional that wash/wax the RVs also install covers starting in April and then remove them by the end of October.

Go to www.adcoprod.com. They send measurement charts and custom manufacture them. The cover has helped prevent the clear coat from peeling. Made in the USA with a 5-year manufacture warranty. Cover can be purchased directly from the manufacturer.

I have now sold the 5th wheel with the same good cover.

Herb, your post is very good to know. I wish we'd have done more research and found the excellent cover that you did. It's a great idea, and I'm glad this exists. Ours was on a Southwind coach, several years ago, so perhaps my panning our cover was unfair. Things certainly could have gotten better. Thanks, Herb.

I live in a area with high winds, up to 80 mph+. Just normal winds 20-30 are very common.

How will any cover handle the flapping that will happen as that will over time I would think destroy the paint.
