Electrolysis problems

Hi Bob

We discovered the electrolysis about 6 months after we got the coach. We were at Lazy days at the time with other problems so expected them to do this job as well.

You ain't going believe this... it's been 2 years and it's not done yet. Lazy days tried and couldn't or wouldn't so we took it to Buddy Gregg in Dallas last year. They did the bedroom (took 2 weeks) and CC wouldn't let them do the other room. It was too late in the year to go to factory so we went there this year. They did the other room BUT, it now leaks and the bottom gasket is so tight that it actually screeches when the room is moved. We will now take it to another shop in Maine to see if it can be fixed.

Such is life....

The coach is a 2002 36' Allure with 2 slides.

Why are we low on oil? Simple ? we forgot to check it.
Our oil is in Alaska, Oklahoma and Texas.

Hi

My leak is on the front end of the galley slide. If the room is out when it rains I find the carpet soaking wet beside the drivers seat.

I feel the factory really let us down. This electrolysis fix is supposed to take 2 days now. They took 2 weeks and didn't even get

it right. I suspect much of the work was left till the last minute and didn't leave time to do it right. In fairness there was rally

that a lot of the service techs went to for the first week but we were told that there would still be plenty of man power on the job so that would not make a difference in time or quality.

Had I known what the truth was I would have waited until they were ready to do it in 2 days so we would not have had to live in a 29 Ft trailer for 2 weeks. (We have a cat so not many options available for accommodations.)

We solved the rusting problem on our 2001 Magna slides very simply by removing the outside slide rubber, sanding the metal and then coating it with Rustoleum primer, painting it with Rustoleum paint to match slide paint and putting on new rubber from Home Depot. All the work took about one hour for each coating but we did not do the top of the slide. I had that checked at a rally and that area was not rusting.

Our problem was not electrolisis, I have seen a lot of that on gasoline underground tanks and this was simple rusting and not using the right metal pieces.
