I agree with John's advice. The problem that you face with a major repair of this nature, is that the day that you sell the unit you will have to disclose the slide problem to a prospective buyer. If you don't and something were to happen to the slide operation, you could face a liability issue for failure to disclose.

Also, keep in mind that the warranty on the slide is very limited.
John is right that you should insist on a new coach. After all, you are paying new coach price, not repaired price. Again, as I mentioned before, time to do all your communications in writting.
Good Luck

Richard

Richard,

I don't want to keep taking up for Lazy Days but I don't think you have any lemon law rights for cosmetic problems. The way I understand this, the slide works fine it just does not look good. If they can correct the appearence everyone should be happy. I have been told the slide functions properly and it does not leak, which is more then I can say for some other coaches. The problem is in getting this piece of trim to fit properly and get the slide opening done correctly. This could have been done at the factory at a quality control station and no one would have ever know. Besides the coach has been titled and food left in the frig. As of the last e mail I read the food went bad because LD left it unpluged. Well in my opinion you never leave a coach at a dealer for an extended period of time with food in the frig., at least we do not. Next week our new Magna goes to the Cat shop for a turbo recall and a new o ring on the oil pump, and the following week to the Lazy Days paint shop for $1800 worth of painting which was not done right. The frig will be empty and the entire floor area covered by me. Thats the way I believe you should leave a coach for service. Does haveing this coach in for engine work and painting mean I want my money back. No, because CCI will make it right and I love the quality of work in the coach. Not everone is perfect but they try. Baseball players get paid millions of dollars for doing good work one third of the time, CCI does better then that.
