DuoTherm controller dead

I went to fill the MH to take off for warmer weather and - when I went to turn the heat on low I found that the system appears to have no power. Checked the fuses. Any other thoughts? It was on when my batteries ran down after my last trip.

A couple of weeks ago my Duotherm Comfort Control lost Zone one. Zone two continued to work OK.

Try resetting Comfort Control:
1. Turn it off

2. While holding down the "Mode" and "Zone" buttons, slide the on/off switch to on
3. You should now see "FF" in the display
4. Release the "Mode " and "Zone" buttons

You should be back in business, it worked for me..

Thanks but no go. My apologies for not identifying my coach - a '98 Allure #30187. I have no zone button, I hold down Mode and another key (I forget which) to switch zones.

Mine is totally dead - not even the light comes on.

I had the same problem with my controller. I found that the on-off switch seemed loose. I pulled off the controller and looked at the switch. It had come un-soldered from the circuit board. I carefully soldered it back and it worked again.

Switch is a little loosey-goosey again, so I will probably have to repeat the repair. Hope this is your problem.

We had the same problem earlier this year in our Intrigue. Control Panel went dead and we checked power from the rear AC to the Control Panel. Power was OK. We replaced the Control Panel with a new one, but it still did not work. After much time and testing at Carrier & Sons in Junction City (with contact with DuoTherm techs), it was found that the connection from the Front AC to the Rear AC was bad. They "weren't talking to each other". The connection is a telephone type cable running through the coach from front to rear. Cable was replaced and all then worked fine. I hope this helps and also I hope this in NOT your problem. If it is .... FYI ... DuoTherm did pay a good portion of our cost, even though warranty period had expired.

A little more on your problem. This supports what Don said.
When I spoke with DuoTherm, their initial solution was to reset the Controller. The next thing was to replace the RJ11 connectors that connect the two units with each other and the Controller.
One of the techs working on a different problem I had last May with the rear unit discovered this:
After replacing the board in the rear unit, he had no power to the controller or either of the units. A lot of head scratching here! He replaced the controller, but no joy. It turns out there is a small 4 amp fuse in the forward unit that blew. The only access to it is to remove the cover of the forward unit and it is on the right side. I don't know why they put it there.
For what its worth, I'd give that a check. I wish I had thought to mention this earlier.
